FLINT — The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan held its annual Empty Bowls fundraiser, Sept. 16, as part of September is National Hunger Action Month.

Attendees enjoyed a simple meal of soup, bread and dessert from a variety of local restaurants and take home a one-of-a-kind bowl, handcrafted by area artisans, to serve as a reminder of hunger in our communities.

Empty Bowls was held at the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan Hunger Solution Center, 1939 Howard Ave. in Flint. — G.G.
