GENESEE COUNTY – Young women of Irish descent are invited to enter the Miss Hibernia 2017 scholarship pageant.
Entrants must be between the ages of 16 and 22 and never married.
Contestants will be required to attend the screening interview at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, at Kathy’s Restaurant in Flushing, as well as the Pre-St. Patrick’s Day party where the coronation of Miss Hibernia will take place on Feb. 11 at the Dom Polski hall on Linden Road, and the St. Patrick Day events in Flint on March 17.
Scholarships will be awarded to Miss Hibernia ($1,300), first runner-up ($700) and second runner-up ($500).
Selection is based on knowledge of Irish heritage, poise, personality, appearance and interview.
