Family pets lost in house fire

FLINT TWP. – Two family pets died in a house fire on Saturday, October 31 in the 4200 block of Carmanwood Drive, according to a press release.

Fire Fighters responded to a reported kitchen fire at 1:48 p.m. On arrival, they found heavy smoke and fire coming from the kitchen area of the house.

Fire fighters extinguished the fire, containing it to the kitchen and dining room area of the house. Heavy smoke damage was throughout the house.

Smoke detectors alerted residents of the fire. One resident was taken to Hurley for smoke inhalation and was kept overnight.

No mutual aid was used. Firefighters were on location for about 2 hours.
