Flushing High School celebrated its Class of 2021 with a commencement ceremony at a packed-out Raider Field on June 3. Commencement speeches were given by Flushing Community Schools Superintendent Matt Shanafelt, Student Council President Isabelle Sparks, Class President Leah Provorse, Valedictorian Meghan McNamara and Salutatorian Sarah Donley. Former Flushing Community Schools Superintendent Tim Stein also gave the keynote address to the students. Altogether, the district bestowed diplomas to 305 graduating seniors from the Class of 2021, including two honorary diplomas in memoriam for Flushing student Eliza Trainer, who died in January 2019 and Flushing student Alaina Ullmer, who passed away in 2017.
