Financial Plus Credit Union will award two students a $1,000 Scholarship

FLINT — Financial Plus Credit Union will award two students with a $1,000 scholarship through their annual “You are the Future” Financial Plus Credit Union Scholarship.

High school students graduating in 2020 with a 3.0 GPA or a current fulltime college or university student with a 3.0 GPA can apply now until May 1. The candidate must complete the application with a short essay (500 words or less) on how the candidate will make a positive impact in their community or already is making an impact in the community.

“Here at Financial Plus, we believe learning is a lifelong process and want to see our future generation succeed. This is one of the key reasons why we continue to offer our scholarship program year after year,” said Olga Long, Vice President of Strategic Growth and Marketing.

“Financial burdens can also be placed on students and their families, and we hope our scholarship will help lessen this burden. We encourage everyone in our community who qualifies to submit an application. Our scholarship judges are eagerly waiting to read each essay,” said Long.

To apply for the scholarship, applicants must complete and submit the following; scholarship application, essay, letter of recommendation, and a transcript. Designated scholarship judges at Financial Plus Credit Union will review all scholarship entries and award the scholarship recipients based on attaining all eligibility requirements and contents of essay.
