GRAND BLANC — As the founding sponsor of Pink Night Palooza, Financial Plus Credit Union is aiming to increase their support of the 10th annual event with the Pink Night Palooza Bake Sale, set for next Friday, Sept. 29, at each of their seven branches from 9 a.m. until all of the baked goods are gone. All proceeds will benefit Hurley’s Breast Cancer Navigation Program.
“This is our tenth year hosting our annual pink bake sale, and it’s the third year we’ve been teamed up with the Hurley’s Breast Navigation Program,” said Kristen Brisbin, Public Relations and Social Media Specialist for Financial Plus. “Financial Plus Credit Union’s Pink Night fundraising event joined forces with the Hurley Foundation Pink Palooza fundraiser to introduce Pink Palooza Night in 2016.”
The annual bake sale will feature dozens of delectable selections at Financial Plus locations, which are each donated by employees, friends, family and businesses in surrounding communities. Among the options are cookies, pies, cupcakes, caramel apples, candies, doughnuts and many more.
“Pink Night Palooza is the big event, and our bake sale is one of many minievents to reach the same overall goal. We have bakeries and employees that really come together for this,” said Brisbin. “You name it, we’ll have it.”
Hurley Medical Center is the first local hospital to have a Breast Cancer Navigation program. From diagnosis to treatment to breast reconstruction to long-term follow-up, their caring, highly-trained breast navigation program supports patients going through breast cancer treatment.
With the support of the community, the program can also help with the financial and emotional burdens of recovery. Because of the costs associated with programs like these, Hurley has enlisted the help of the community, hosting a number of events and fundraisers to help benefit these women in need. The largest of the fundraisers that directly supplement the Breast Navigation Program is Pink Night Palooza.
Pink Night Palooza gives the community the power to change lives locally, right here in Genesee County. Funds raised during the dynamic event are guaranteed to stay local, helping local women. That means your neighbors, friends, family, even fellow business owners who might be survivors or currently battling breast cancer may benefit. You will meet some of them and hear their inspirational stories of survival.
Hundreds of supporters are expected to attend Pink Night Palooza as the event celebrates 10 years of raising money for those affected by breast cancer. This year’s event includes a tantalizing assortment of appetizers and desserts, drink specials, the iconic Brartistry Fashion Show, a Live Auction led by Chris Swanson, a Silent Auction of irresistible items, games and more fun surprises.
Pink Night Palooza event will be held at the Holiday Inn & Gateway Centre in Flint, and is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 4 from 5-11 p.m. For more information or to purchase tickets to Pink Night Palooza visit www.hurleymc.com/pink. — Alex Petrie
