Financial Plus earns high marks

FLINT — Financial Plus Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions in Genesee County, has announced another five-star rating from BauerFinancial, Inc., the nation’s premier credit union rating firm. Earning this rating is one of the highest honors a credit union can receive, and this marks the 104th consecutive quarter that Financial Plus Credit Union has earned it. Financial Plus continues to excel with a strong loan portfolio, capital adequacy, profitability, and is operating at a remarkable level.

“We’ve been doing this for a long time,” said the President of BauerFinancial, Karen Dorway. “We’ve seen the ups and the downs of the industry, and the one constant is that when credit unions like Financial Plus promote the financial well-being of their members, they continue to shine, even in the toughest times. Since it is member-owned, knowing its members and helping them thrive comes full circle back to the credit union itself.”

Financial Plus Credit Union was established in 1952 and has been serving the changing need of its members ever since. Under the leadership of President and CEO Jill Reno, the institution’s commitment to providing as a strong, safe, and secure financial institution for its members has remained a top priority over the years at each of its seven branches.

BauerFinancial, Inc. has been analyzing and reporting on the performance of U.S. banks and credit unions since 1983. No institution pays for this rating, nor can any choose to be excluded.
