FLINT — Financial Plus Credit Union and the Swartz Creek Area Chamber of Commerce hosted their 14th annual Whatchamacallit networking event on Dec. 8.
Whatchamacallit is an early morning holiday networking event held at Financial Plus Credit Union’s main office. This event aims to raise money and donations to benefit the Old Newsboys of Flint and the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, while bringing business professionals and chamber members together for the holiday season.
“We are proud to announce we were able to raise $2,598 for the Old Newsboys of Flint and collect 480 pounds of food for the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan at our annual Whatchamacallit event. We want to thank all attendees and the Swartz Creek Area Chamber of Commerce for helping us raise these monetary funds and donations for two wonderful causes” said Olga Long, Senior Vice President.
The Old Newsboys of Flint has brightened Christmas mornings for more than 806,000 needy children across Genesee County, making a difference in improving the lives of kids in our community. The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan has pursued their mission to eliminate hunger within the community. Through a network of organizations, more than 331,000 people are served each year.
