Carrying on a longstanding tradition, the United Methodist Men’s Club is selling Christmas trees in the front courtyard at the United Methodist Church of Swartz Creek, 7400 Miller Road. Sale hours are 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. There are no sales on Sunday. Among the club members who will help families select the perfect tree and bundle it up are, from left, Greg Sturgeon, Jay Freeman, Eric Gano and Bob Keene. The club is offering Scotch pine, Balsam fir, Fraser fir and Douglas fir in varying heights up to 10 feet. Prices range from $35 to $60. Proceeds benefit community projects and missions inside and outside the local church. The men’s group has paid for students to attend music tours in New York and Europe, and they support the Swartz Creek Community Food Basket. They also helped buy a new lawnmower for the church and they lend a hand wherever there is a need.
