Fire damages dialysis center

FLINT TWP. — Fire temporarily closed a dialysis center in Flint Township last week.

A fire broke out just after 3 a.m. May 21 at Davita Dialysis, 1075 N. Ballenger Highway. No one was in the building when the fire started.

Flint Township Fire Chief Thomas Stadler said the fire started in an electrical service closet that held telecommunications and other electrical equipment. Stadler said fire damage was limited to the closet, and there was smoke and water damage to other parts of the building.

The fire remains under investigation. — J.J.
