WINDSOR, Ont. – The Flint Firebirds were unable to find the back of the net during Sunday’s matinee game at the Windsor Spitfires in a 1-0 loss. The game’s only goal came just 3:44 into the opening frame when Cole Purboo buried what eventually turned into the game-winner.

Ty Dellandrea buried the equalizer 3:28 into the middle stanza before Fedor Gordeev took the lead for Flint moments later. Near the end of the period, Dellandrea had his second of the night to up the lead to 3-1. The Greyhounds started out the final period on a strong note with Boris Katchouk cutting it down to a one-goal game, but Flint’s Connor Roberts iced it away with an empty netter.

Flint still remains in last place at 13-27-3-1 for 30 points as it prepares for three games in a row this weekend. The Firebirds travel to Guelph on Friday, host Kitchener on Saturday and host Windsor on Sunday.
