Firebirds’ preseason goes on tour

FLINT — The Flint Firebirds of the Ontario Hockey League recently released their preseason schedule, comprised of four games, none of which will take place at Perani Arena in Flint. That may be due to last minute touch-ups during the renovation process at the facility.

Flint’s preseason opener will be a Blue vs. White intrasquad scrimmage on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Polar Palace in Lapeer. The Firebirds then hit the road for a couple of games, traveling to the Dow Event Center to face off with rival Saginaw Spirit at 7:11 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4.

Two days later on Sept. 6, Flint makes the trek across the boarder to the WFCU Center to take on the Windsor Spitfires at 2:00 p.m. Their preseason slate will conclude on Sunday, Sept. 20 against the Sarnia Sting at 5:00 p.m. at McMorran Arena in Port Huron. — B.P.
