Firefighters to host golf scramble Saturday

SWARTZ CREEK — The Swartz Creek Area Firefighters Inc. will sponsor a golf scramble on Saturday, Aug. 28, at Genesee Valley Golf Course, 5499 Miller Road.

This event is a best ball scramble with a shotgun start. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with play starting at 9:30 a.m.

The cost is $75 per player or $300 per team, which includes dinner after the round.

Beverages must be purchased from the course. Coolers are not allowed.

Skins cost $5 per player, mulligans cost $5 (one per player).

The Swartz Creek Area Firefighter Inc. is a nonprofit organization made up of members of the Swartz Creek Area Fire Department. They provide community outreach programs including fire safety and prevention programs in the Swartz Creek Community Schools and at public events such as Hometown Days.

They, along with the Downtown Development Authority, present the outdoor movies in the summer; and, with the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, they provide the giant slip-and-slide. — L.R.
