FLINT —Founders Society and the Flint Institute of Arts are hosting the 10th Annual First Frost Arts & Fine Crafts Fair, Nov. 7-8, which returns to its regular dates of the first weekend in November.
This event is a unique two-day arts festival held inside the Flint Institute of Arts (1120 E. Kearsley St.). This fun event will feature items on sale from approximately 50 hand-selected artists that will appeal to all holiday shoppers. This year’s artists display crafts in wood, fiber, jewelry, metal, glass, ceramics, painting, mosaics and mixed media. All artists’ booths will be conveniently located in the FIA’s C.S. Mott Gallery wing, and Isabel Hall.
A unique feature of First Frost is the Festival of Trees and Wreaths, big and small, created by local designers, florists, community organizations and First Frost volunteers for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays all available for purchase through a silent auction. The auction will be open for bidding throughout the Fair.
First Frost also features glassblowing demonstrations, musical entertainment, intriguing “Living Statues” and holiday bake sale, all in support of the Flint Institute of Arts.
Fair hours are Nov. 7 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Nov. 8 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. General admission is $5, Seniors 62 & above are $4 and children 12 and under are free of charge. The FIA permanent collection galleries will be open free of charge.
