FLINT TWP. — The Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Martin Evell Smith, 54, of Flint, with three counts in connection with a string of vehicle larcenies throughout Flint Township.
Flint Township Police said the break-ins occurred while vehicles were parked at businesses and restaurants. The items included purses, backpacks, gym bags, power tools, hand tools, lawn mowers, snow blowers, leaf blowers, GPS units, golf clubs and cell phones.
Smith has been charged with receiving and concealing stolen property of $1,000 to $20,000, breaking and entering a vehicle to steal property of $1,000 to $20,000 and ammunition possession by a felon.
Police have identified several larceny victims and are seeking other victims. Police said that during these incidents, the suspect drove a black GMC Sierra crew cab with black rims, tinted windows and a black toolbox in the back of the truck. The suspect also drove a blue Chevrolet Malibu with tinted windows.
