FLINT TWP. — At the Aug. 4 primary, Flint Township voters overwhelmingly approved a fire safety protection equipment millage renewal for the Flint Township Fire Department.
Altogether, the millage proposal received 5,950 votes of approval (84 percent) and only 1,139 votes against (16 percent). The millage, which provides fire safety protection equipment for the Flint Township Fire Department, is set for .25 mills and will be levied for the next five years from 2021 to 2025.
Revenues from the millage will be used to purchase equipment and rescue suits for Flint Township firefighters. The millage will generate an estimated revenue of $211,602 in its first year. — B.G.
