Flint Township hires new full-time firefighter


FLINT TWP. — The Flint Township Board of Trustees has approved the hire of Charles Moran as a new full-time firefighter for the Flint Township Fire Department.

Moran, who has served Flint Township as an on-call firefighter since 2016, will become the ninth full-time firefighter on the department’s current force. Currently, the department is budgeted to have 10 full-time firefighters and still has one vacant position to fill.

In addition to firefighting, Moran is an IT tech with the Grand Blanc Township Fire Department. He is a graduate of Baker College, where he earned his Associates Degree in Information Technology in 2012. He graduated from the Genesee County Fire Academy in 2016.

Moran will begin his full-time training with the fire department effective Jan. 4. — B.G.
