FLINT — The Flint Women’s Forum (FWF) has announced the keynote speaker for its 2019 annual Celebration of Women event, Mary Lynn Foster, Michigan native and current Regional Chief Executive Officer for the American Red Cross – Ohio Buckeye Region.
Foster joins a list of past prestigious speakers who all have done exceptional things. This year’s event is being held April 26, at the Holiday Inn Gateway Centre in Flint from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Foster’s expertise includes 25 years of management and executive leadership in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. Her journey started as a CPA, then she worked her way up in various large corporate organizations. More recently she has transitioned to a mission-driven community service path. Area women are invited to join the FWF to hear her inspiring journey.
Her visit to Flint coincides with the national American Red Cross initiative, “Sound the Alarm”. This effort involves volunteers canvassing at-risk communities across the country to install smoke alarms in homes. In Flint alone, the goal is to install 300 smoke alarms on April 27.
The cost of the event is $30 and includes a plated lunch. Those wishing to attend can register at flintwomensforum.org by selecting the Celebration of Women 2019 link, or on the FWF Facebook page. Registration is required and must be completed by April 19. — G.G.
