FLUSHING — Mayfair Bible Church in Flushing hosted a free open-air worship service at Riverview Park on Sunday. The socially distanced service offered a family-friendly atmosphere and a time for community members to safely come together for praise and worship during the trying times of COVID-19.

Two-time American Idol contestant Genavieve Linkowski gave a special guest performance with the Mayfair praise team.

Michael Breznau, lead pastor of Mayfair Bible Church, said that the event was a great way to safely gather residents together for a night of worship, especially as many churches continue to adapt to the ever-changing pandemic climate.

“We hope this is a blessing, especially to those who’ve been unable to attend in-person, in-building services over the past four months, due to being immunocompromised or high risk,” Breznau said. “We’re all in this together.”
