FLUSHING — Alexandra Proulx, a 2020 Flushing High School graduate, has received a $1,000 FHS Outstanding Transition Student Scholarship. Proulx plans to attend Mott Community College in the fall and looks forward to becoming a veterinarian technician.
The Transition programs at Flushing Middle School and Flushing High School help to prepare students with life and job skills for post-high school living. In the final class of the program, students work with local employers to get on-the-job training and job coaching. The Outstanding Transition Student Scholarship is given to a student who will be attending college or a trade school, who has shown extraordinary effort and has had positive completion of the program/job with his/her employer. — B.G.
