Flushing youth soccer team wins local tournament title

BAY CITY — The Flushing FC 2010 (U12) Boys team took first place in their division in the Halloween themed Soccerween Tournament hosted by the Bay Area Soccer Association in Bay City on Oct. 24. Participating teams wore matching costumes instead of their regular team uniforms. Flushing FC finished in first place after a tie against Goodrich and wins versus both Freeland and Midland. After a record of 16-0-2 over their 2020/2021 league campaign, the team moved up a division and currently sits at 3-3-1 with one league game left to play this fall. The team is coached by Joe Oleyar and Dizz Hamilton. — B.G.
