FLINT TWP. — Flint Township Downtown Development Authority is adding some new flavor to Bike Nights 2019 with a Food Truck Festival on each of the four Bike Nights.
Food trucks will be at Bike Nights at Vehicle City Harley-Davidson, 2400 Austin Parkway, on June 28, July 26, Aug. 23 and Sept. 6 for Bike to the Bricks. The food trucks will be open from 4 to 9 p.m. on each date.
“Food trucks are becoming popular, and a lot of the different townships have been doing it,” said Carol Pfaff-Dahl, community events chairman for the Flint Township DDA. “We thought why not bring it to Flint Township and see how it goes over. Then we heard Harley- Davidson was doing the Bike Nights, and we asked if they wanted to put the two together.”
Pfaff-Dahl said there will be room for 10 to 14 trucks each night, and spaces are still available. Some of the offerings so far include barbecued ribs, Korean tacos, shrimp tacos, gourmet cheeses, Frankenmuth chicken, reuben sandwiches, tacos, burritos, chips and salsa, pizza, Cuban sandwiches, popcorn, kettle corn, ice cream, apple cider doughnuts and homemade desserts and sweets.
“We’re excited about doing the food trucks for the first time, and we’ve got quite a variety so far,” Pfaff-Dahl said
Bike Nights are sponsored by Vehicle City Harley Davidson every other Friday night, with the next event on May 31. Motorcycles of all kinds are on display, and prizes are awarded for the top three bikes overall in the Hot Bike Contest. Live bands play from 6-9 p.m. each date.
