BURTON — Imagine yourself walking along the trails of For-Mar Nature Preserve and Arboretum when the dew has just lifted and the trails are quiet.
The Nature Photography Club does just that and they take pictures so they can show others what they’re missing! You won’t be one of the ones who misses out if you join the For-Mar Nature Photography Club that meets the second Saturday of every month from 9-10:30 a.m.
The photography club is designed for both professional and amateur photographers. They highlight a different photography technique each month and then hit the trails in search of all For-Mar’s amazing landscape and wildlife.
This program is for ages 16 and older and is only $3 per person. Mark your calendar because the next meeting is on Saturday, July 9.
Cameras are for kids, too! We’ve added a new Kids’ Nature Photography Club that meets the first Saturday of every month from 1:30-2:30 p.m. and it’s only $3 per child. For-Mar’s Kids Photography Club teaches basic photography skills, gets kids outdoors, and helps them take amazing pictures of their favorite natural areas at For-Mar. Children must bring their own digital camera. Suggested for ages 6 and up, all abilities.
Oh, one last thing, everyone who attends a Nature Photography Club is eligible to enter a photo into the Monthly Nature Photography Photo Contest. Photos are voted on in the For-Mar Visitor Center and monthly winning photos are put on display. — G.G.
