Foundation provides grant to Catholic Outreach

FLINT — The Catholic Outreach St. Christopher Program has been in existence for more than19 years. Currently two minivans are used to transport seriously-ill children and a parent or guardian at no cost to them.

Daily trips are made to Children’s Hospital in Detroit and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor along with hospitals in Lansing. They also transport children from the Houghton Lake and Canton areas as this service is not available in those areas and are the only one providing this service for no fee. Last year they transported more than140 children on approximately 400 runs.

The Food & Personal Needs Pantry assists families with non-perishable food and personal needs items such as toilet tissue, hand and dish soap, feminine needs, and toothpaste/ brushes. The W. O’Neil Foundation’s grant will help supplement the yearly budget.
