Fourth Annual Chrome and Ice show bigger, more spectacluar

GENESEE COUNTY — Back to the Bricks and GM are proud to announce the upcoming fourth annual winter indoor car show, Chrome & Ice, which is set for February 8, 9 and 10 at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center in Burton. The 2019 Chrome & Ice event, brought to you by Dort Federal Credit Union, will be larger and more spectacular than ever before, featuring more than 125 vintage and classic sports cars, muscle cars, hot rods and trucks, with live entertainment, special guests and much, much more.

Chrome & Ice is expanding to three days this year, and promises to be larger and more spectacular than ever, featuring an amazing collection of “Super Cars” in the lobby, capable of speeds exceeding 200mph. Access to the entire facility will enable organizers to showcase more vehicles, who are expecting to surpass 5,000 guests this year. Also, approximately 55 vendor stations will be available for spectators to visit, primarily automotive-related.

“Also, we have our featured cars, our Tri Five Classics – the Chevy ‘55, ’56 and ‘57 models,” said Event Coordinator Steve Hobbs. “We also have our 200-mph-supercars, which will all be displayed in the lobby. We have the new ZR-1 Corvette, a Porsche 930 Turbo slant-nose, a Ferrari, two Lamborghinis, a Cobra and a Viper. We’re really excited about our featured cars and the Chevys.”

This year, all registered participants in the Chrome & Ice show will receive a gift and catered lunches throughout the course of the event. Chrome & Ice will be open to the public Friday, February 8, from 2 to 9 p.m., Saturday, February 9, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, February 10, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Commemorative jackets valued at $250 will be awarded to the Top 25 vehicles on Sunday at 3PM.

“This year, we have more cars, more time, with the extended show and extended hours, and more prizes,” said Hobbs. “And back again this year, we’ll have the Electra 25 prize system, where the top 25 cars will win a $250 commemorative jacket. The votes are cast by all the adult admission ticketholders, so the guests will be able to pick out their favorites.”

This year’s event will also include the VIP Experience private preview party on Friday from 6-8 p.m. Tickets for Friday’s party will be $35 each and will raise funds for Back to the Bricks Youth Scholarship Fund. The private party, brought to you by ABC12, will feature live entertainment, gourmet hors d’oeuvres, entry to the entire Chrome & Ice show, gourmet dessert, a free drink and much more.

General admission tickets for Chrome & Ice are $8 for adults, and $5 for youth, ages 12-17. Children under 12 are free. Mark your calendars now, and make plans to escape the winter blues at a family-friendly event. Watch Facebook and the website for more information as it becomes available.
