FLINT — Frederick Armenti, MD, a cardiothoracic surgeon, was recently honored for his outstanding performance and professionalism among the medical staff at McLaren Flint. He is the inaugural recipient of the hospital’s Physician Recognition Award.
Armenti was nominated for the award by his peers. One of his nominators submitted the following:
“Fred is a proven leader of the Medical Staff and has dedicated time to improve care and outcomes. He serves on the Medical Executive Committee and Cardiology Q/A (Quality Assurance), and is committed to excellence. His bedside management is admirable and he always finds time to say ‘Hello’ and provide constructive feedback to his colleagues.”
“I have enjoyed working with the medical staff (at McLaren Flint),” said Armenti. “It is a good team. The physicians, working together with Administration, have implemented programs to advance organizational efficiencies and promote quality and safety measures for our patients.”
Armenti has been on the McLaren Flint medical staff since 1994. In addition to his administrative leadership, he maintains a private cardiothoracic surgery practice in partnership with Anup Sud, MD, in Flint. — G.G.
