“Flint Youth Theatre Drama School is offering more classes than ever before. In addition to our excellent full-term, eight-week offerings, we are now offering shorter Dramatic Breaks classes. Students can participate in creative exploration through courses in puppetry, mask making, auditioning, improvisation and film,” stated Samuel J. Richardson, FYT Education Manager.

Winter Dramatic Breaks offers Mask Making for students in grades 1-3. Nurturing, professional instructors encourage students to use their imaginations to design and create their own mask. The Fun with Improv class is for students in grades 4-6, helping them explore their spontaneous side while creating original scenes and dynamic characters through improvisational drama games and exercises. Introduction to Puppetry is offered for students in grades 7-12 and is designed to familiarize young people with the unique possibilities of working with puppets.

Each year, FYT Drama School provides students with opportunities to tell great stories, meet new people, develop confidence, learn how to present themselves and discover what it is like to act on stage. With small classes and one-on-one coaching, FYT’s professionally trained and educated faculty nurtures creative minds while teaching the practical skills of performing on stage. — G.G.
