— Flint Youth Theatre announces open auditions and technical interviews for The Homecoming,
based on the novel written by Earl Hamner, Jr. and adapted by Christopher Sergel.
Known to television audiences as The Waltons,
FYT’s production uses a stage adaptation of the novel in which the family is named the Spencers. The
promises to be a holiday hit in the style of last season’s production of It’s a Wonderful Life.
Auditions are open to all students in grades three and above and will be held Oct. 19. Auditions for students in grades three- six run 5:30-8:30 p.m. with check-in beginning after 5 p.m. Auditions and technical interviews for students in grades seven-12 run 6:30- 9:30 p.m. with check-in beginning after 6 p.m. All auditions and interviews will take place at FYT, 1220 E. Kearsley St. in the Flint Cultural Center, using FYT’s Main Entrance.
Those auditioning are asked to wear a loose shirt, sweat pants, tennis shoes and have hair pulled back. No skirts, jeans or head coverings/ It is not necessary to prepare anything to audition or interview for a technical position. FYT is committed to ethnically mixed companies. Rehearsals for The Homecoming
