FYT looking for students to audition for Wizard of Oz

FLINT — Flint Youth Theatre, 220 E. Kearsley St., announces open auditions and technical interviews for The Wizard of Oz, by L. Frank Baum with music and lyrics from the MGM motion picture score by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg.

This play will be directed by Rodney Creech and performed on the FYT stage Dec. 6-22.

FYT is looking for a student to take on the challenging and rewarding role of Dorothy.

This role includes intensive singing and dancing. A full company of students are also needed for this iconic musical.

Students are invited to audition and interview to be a part of this play.

Open to all students grades 7 to 12

Auditions: Oct. 19, 2-5:30 p.m. (check in after 1:30 p.m.)

Call-backs: Oct. 22, 6-9:30 p.m. (if needed)

Tech Interviews: Oct. 19, 2 -3 p.m. (check in after 1:30 P.M.)

• Auditions are for students interested in being in the show. Students are asked to plan to attend the entire audition.

• Tech interviews are for students interested in working backstage.

• Students may apply for both.

• Participation in this production will require missing four days of school.

Rehearsals begin Oct. 29, Tuesdays through Fridays, 6:30-9:30 p.m.,

Saturdays, 2-5:30 p.m.

There will be no rehearsal on Nov. 28- 29 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
