GRAND BLANC — Grand Blanc Community Schools Superintendent Clarence Garner has announced his retirement, effective June 30, 2021.
In a letter to the community, Garner wrote that he has had a “long and rewarding” career in Grand Blanc, where he also served as a teacher, principal, personnel director and deputy superintendent.
He said he and his wife, Lori, look forward to enjoying time with family, friends, travel and new adventures.
“Lori and I have lived in Grand Blanc, raised our amazing children here, and enjoyed long, fulfilling careers at Grand Blanc Community Schools,” Garner wrote. “I will leave with a full heart.”
Deputy Superintendent Dr. Trevor Alward will step into the superintendent’s spot July 1.
Garner described Alward as “a bright, caring and enthusiastic leader.” — L.R.
