GRAND BLANC — The Genesee District Library (GDL) and Flint Handmade (FH) will host the 6th Annual Book Lovers’ Craft Fair at the Grand Blanc-McFarlen Library on Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A dozen local artisans will sell an assortment of modern book-themed, handmade goods with most prices ranging from $1 – $20. Vendors will include allora art and design, Chic Mom Designs, Chicaloo Kate, Chocolates by Jamie, Lounies Soap Co., LUMINIST, Madge and Gert and Stardust Studios.
New this year will be the Flint Handmade Artisan Gift Shop. To support more local artisans and provide more choice to shoppers, Flint Handmade will staff a table with gifts made by many different crafters. Products will be available for purchase from the Flint Candle Company, Flint Coffee Company, Luna Rosa Boutique and more. “We’re very excited for our sixth year of hosting the Book Lovers’ Craft Fair in partnership with the Genesee District Library,” said Crystal Pepperdine, Executive Director of Flint Handmade. “There’s a lot of overlap between crafters and readers. This is just a wonderful collaboration for everyone involved.”
Children may participate in a free make-andtake ornament craft for all ages. Supplies will be provided.
“The Genesee District Library values the partnership with Flint Handmade, and we’re excited for the 6th Annual Book Lovers’ Craft Fair,” said Kelly Flynn, Community Relations Manager for GDL. “Book-related items are perfect for our patrons. They love everything book-related, and we love our patrons. It’s a perfect match.”
Flint Handmade, which was founded by Pepperdine in 2007, supports the local handmade economy by organizing and promoting craft markets, offering opportunities for social crafting, and educating the public about the personal and commercial value of handcrafting.
Admission is free. For more information, including a list of vendors with links to their websites, please visit flinthandmade.org. — G.G.
