BOYNE FALLS — The Michigan EMS Practitioners Association Friday honored Wayne Blossom of Medstar Ambulance in Genesee County as its EMS Practitioner of the Year.
Each year, the association honors an EMS provider who goes above and beyond to save lives and advance the emergency medical services profession at the annual Michigan EMS Expo. This year’s expo was held in Boyne Falls, Michigan.
“Wayne represents what EMS should be in Michigan,” said Kolby Miller, CEO of Medstar Ambulance. “In an industry challenged by provider stress and recognition of effort, Wayne acts out of servitude and kindness and always looks for solutions to the issues we face as EMS providers.”
Wayne Blossom has more than 20 years of service in EMS and is known for the positive attitude and determination to find solutions he brings to the job every day. He works by a core set of values, frequently volunteering for additional duties including mentoring and training new employees and managing EMS supplies.
Blossom primarily serves residents of Genesee County, though Medstar also operates in Macomb, Lapeer and Ingham counties.
