Genesee County Student Theatre Showcase Production

FLINT TWP. — “You’re gonna have trouble with a capital T,” if you don’t attend the Genesee County Student Theatre Showcase (GCSTS) production of Meredith Willson’s The Music Man.

Production dates are Aug. 16-18, 2018 at 7 p.m. at Carman Ainsworth High School Auditorium, 1300 N. Linden Rd. All seats are reserved and tickets can be purchased online at www.showtix4u.com.

From the producers of last summer’s successful production of Hairspray, The Music Man will make you tap your toe to familiar tunes like “76 Trombones” and ‘Sha Poo Pi.” Swindling salesman Harold Hill comes to River City, Iowa to sell the town a boy’s band. His charisma puts the city and it’s librarian in a trance. Will the other salesmen on his beat catch up with him, or will Harold get his foot caught in the door? Come to Carman-Ainsworth High School Auditorium next week to find out!

In cooperation with Carman- Ainsworth Theatre, this production is collaborative effort that brings students together from across Genesee County. Summer 2018 has brought students from Davison, Carman-Ainsworth, Grand Blanc, Goodrich, Flushing, Bentley, Swartz Creek & Kearsley. Over the course of the summer, students have not only been rehearsing every evening, but they also had the opportunity to participate in workshops on a variety of topics, from professional theatre artists.

The team of educators bringing this program to life is led by producer Peter Cross and Carman-Ainsworth High School Director of theatre Delynne Miller. Other production team members include Rafeal McDaniel, Don Brewer, Alicia Cross and Kimberlee Baumgarner.
