GENESEE COUNTY — Voters approved the Genesee County Arts Education and Cultural Enrichment Millage on the Aug. 7 ballot.
Passage of the millage means county residents will enjoy enhanced access, program expansion and organization sustainability among area arts and cultural organizations.
“The approval of this millage allows all Genesee County residents, from children to seniors, to visit and participate in the arts and culture programs within our county – providing greater access for all. The beneficiary organizations of this millage will continue to deliver high quality programming and experiences for many years to come. We are thankful to the res- idents of Genesee County who both see and clearly value the importance of the arts in our community,” said Mark Sinila, Chief Operating Officer, Flint Cultural Center Corporation.
As a result of the millage, all Genesee County residents will receive free admission to Sloan Museum and the Flint Institute of Arts and deep discounts to all other entities that benefit from the millage. Discounts include 30 percent off Flint Symphony Orchestra and Flint Youth Theatre performances, along with waived student registration fees at the Flint School of the Performing Arts and 50 percent discounts to Longway Planetarium shows.

In addition, residents will receive 75 percent off all main stage theatre productions at the New McCree Theatre and a 78 percent discount on Creative Expression Dance Studio Workshops at Berston Field House.
