Genesee Habitat for Humanity building its 100th home




FLINT — The Genesee County Habitat for Humanity will build its 100th home this September in the Foss Avenue Neighborhood, 1173 Ruth St.

The Genesee County Habitat for Humanity has built 14 homes in the Foss Avenue neighborhood and officials said they are excited to be able to build their 100th home there.

In celebration of their 100th home they started the build out with Sen. David Roberston and Sen. Jim Ananich, who will be participating in the build due to the legislators building communities initiative.

In addition to senators, General Motors will have 200 employees throughout the week volunteering. A dedication for this home will be Oct. 7, World Habitat Day, at 5:30pm.

Pastor Reggie Flynn of the Foss Avenue Baptist Church will be leading the blessing for the home, Congressman Dan Kildee will also be in attendance.

The Genesee County Habitat for Humanity has built or renovated 99 homes since its founding. The Genesee County Habitat works in collaboration with many community partners to make all of this possible. — G.G.
