FLINT — On Friday, Sept. 21 – United Nations International Day of Peace – Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute (GHCI) will host a mindfulness meditation hour from 3-4 p.m.
Everyone is welcome to participate in this simple, seated meditation practice and instruction, offered by Sue Kirby, a yoga and meditation teacher who provides classes at GHCI for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers throughout the year.
Mindfulness meditation provides many benefits: it reduces stress, it improves sleeps, it helps manage pain, and it relaxes the mind and body.
The class on Sept. 21 is free, but GHCI gladly will accept donations that go directly to patient programs at the institute.
No registration is necessary. To obtain more information about meditation hour at GHCI, call 810.241.4223. GHCI is located at 302 Kensington Avenue in Flint.
