Genisys Credit Union Partners with The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan to Feed Those in Need

GENESEE COUNTY – Genisys Credit Union was excited to help “Change the Face of Hunger” by raising money for The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. Genisys employees and members from the Clio, Fenton, Grand Blanc, Marysville and Vassar branches raised $6,617.37. Genisys also utilized the Food Bank’s match program and raised another

$7,892 for a total of $14,509.37.

“We are pleased to be able to partner with such a wonderful organization that helps those who have to decide between paying their bills and buying food,” says Genisys Credit Union President and CEO, Jackie Buchanan. Genisys is dedicated to Making a Difference in their communities. In 2017 they sponsored nearly 900 events with more than 4,000 community service hours.

The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan started in 1981, serving Genesee County. Today, the Food Bank distributes 28 million pounds of food each year throughout the 22 counties it serves and can provide 6 meals for every dollar raised.
