FLINT TWP. — A popular burger joint soon will be added to the growing variety of dining choices along the busy Miller Road commercial corridor.
Five Guys Burgers and Fries, a Virginia-based franchise, is slated to join Potbelly’s sandwich shop in the newly-built strip center at 4140 Miller Road.
Tracey Tucker, township building director, confirmed the news but further plans are not yet available.
Five Guys corporate representatives did not respond to a request for details about when the restaurant will open and how many jobs it will bring.
According to information posted on its web site, Five Guys lists on its web site the locations of stores opening within the new few months but “can rarely predict the exact date that a store will open until just a few days prior.”
The Flint Township location is posted as coming soon.
Founded in 1986 in the Washington D.C. area, Five Guys began offering franchisees in 2003 and has since expanded to more than 1,000 locations in 47 states and six Canadian provinces, plus more than 1500 units in development, according to its web site.
The company says there are more than 250,000 ways to order a Five Guys burger, which uses only fresh ground beef and ingredients. Freshcut fries are cooked in pure peanut oil.
Nothing is ever frozen. Each location has coolers but no freezers to offer only freshly delivered ingredients.
