FLUSHING — The GFWC Flushing Women’s Club will be sponsoring a safe visit with Santa Claus in Riverview Park during the annual Flushing Candlewalk on Dec. 3-4 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Santa will be seated in the pavilion closest to the playground and may have some elf tricks up his sleeve or a story to read while your child is visiting.

The COVID-19 virus has changed many aspects of everyone’s lives. For the Flushing Women’s Club, the cancellation of both the Art Fair in June and the Flushing Craft Show in November has left us without the ability to give to many of our local and international charities. Your purchase of one of our “signature” turkey, cream cheese and cranberry sandwiches on a croissant can help support our local charities. These sandwiches have been a top seller at our craft show for many years. We are also selling tickets for a chance to win our delightful Christmas porch Gnome made from fresh evergreens.

Our Flushing Women’s Club members are looking forward to help make this Christmas festivity a fun and inviting occasion for you and your family. Come see us in the tent next to Santa in the park. — submitted by the GFWC Flushing Women’s Club.
