GM Flint Assembly receives 2 Quality Awards for pickups




FLINT — General Motors’ Flint Assembly plant was honored last week with the presentation of two quality awards from J.D. Power, according to a press release.

The awards were based on customer feedback on initial quality and vehicle dependability and were announced earlier in the year. Flint Assembly hosted a celebration at the plant, where Roman Lesnau of J.D. Power, presented trophies to GM and UAW leadership.

The plant and its employees were recognized for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado HD, which took the top spot in the heavy-duty pickup category in the J.D. Power U.S. Initial Quality Study. The 2014 GMC Sierra HD, placed second. This is second year in a row for Silverado HD to top the heavy-duty category. In addition, to the IQS award, the plant was recognized for its 2011 GMC Sierra HD, which topped the heavy-duty pickup category in the J.D. Power U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study.
