FLINT — The Gold team jumped out to an early lead and hung on for a 10-7 win over the Black squad in the Annual Bruin Classic All Star softball game last Monday, hosted by Mott Community College.

Swartz Creek graduate Madison Majestic went 2-for- 3 at the plate, walked, scored once and knocked in a run to pace the win for Gold. The Mott-bound outfielder won the MVP award for her efforts. Meanwhile, Jacee Sword of Kearsley earned the Best Player plaque for the Black team as she doubled, singled, recorded an RBI and scored a run.

For the Black team, players include: Rachel Morales, Atherton; Malfait Spencer, Bendle; Madison Wheeler, Capac; Erica Barta, Chesaning; Skylar Walser, Chesaning; Lena Stillson, Cros-Lex; Ann Minton, Davison; Mady Cox, Sydney Hill and Kylee Yon, Goodrich; Gillian Cohoon, Holly, Brianna Opalewski and Leah Ridenour, Lapeer; Rose Allman, Owosso, McKenna Friedt and Sophie Kreiman, Flint Powers; and Isabelle Littleton of LakeVille. Coaches are Gordon Jamison from Linden, Ron Poyer from Chesaning and Jo Ellen Smith from Owosso.
