The Atherton Volleyball Golf Outing will be held Aug. 16 at IMA BROOKWOOD GOLF CLUB. Guiding Star Foundation annual golf outing at CAPTAIN’S CLUB OF WOODFIELD. 18-hole scramble, breakfast and registration 7:30-9 a.m., shot gun start 9 a.m. Includes two drinks, cart, five contests, 50/50 raffle, mulligan, lunch at the turn, dinner afterward. Lapeer American Legion Post 16 will hold its eighth annual Keeping It Alive (Drive to Survive) SAL Golf Outing on Aug. 22 at ROLLING HILLS GOLF CLUB. The four-person scramble will begin with registration at 7:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $60 per person or $240 per team and includes $340 cash for first place, $240 for second place and $100 for third. Prizes for closest to the pin and longest drive for both men and women. Coffee and doughnuts in the morning, hot dogs at the turn and dinner afterwards at the Legion Post where door prizes will be given away. The tournament will have a 50/50 hole, skins, a Las Vegas money hole, putting contest and 50/50 raffles. All proceeds support our veterans and the continuation of Lapeer American Legion Post 16. The Lapeer East High School Class of 1985 will hold a golf outing as part of its 30-year reunion on Aug. 22 at METAMORA GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB. The outing starts at 11 a.m., and golfers are invited to use the clubhouse facilities afterward, including pool and showers. Cost: $200 per team, includes course fees and cart, plus longest drive (male/female), closest-to-pin, Double or Nothing Hole, 50/50 raffle, Skins $20 per team, hot dog and chips at the turn, catered dinner/prizes immediately following at the VFW Hall. Deadline: Sept. 1 at the VFW Hall, 3131 Elms Road, Swartz Creek.
