The Village of Lennon Volunteers Four- Person Golf Scramble will be held June 17 at DUTCH HOLLOW, with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Cost is $65 per golfer, which includes a 10-oz. steak or chicken dinner. The Marine Corps League Flint Detachment will hold its annual golf outing June 18 at IMA BROOKWOOD. Registration is at 7 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Cost is $65 per person, which includes 18 holes with cart, driving range, coffee and donuts, lunch at the turn and a New York strip dinner. A $260 first prize will be awarded in three categories: men, women and seniors (65+). Also longest drive and closest to pin in all three categories. The Swartz Creek VFW-AMVETS will sponsor the second annual Dante Bessolo Memorial Golf Outing on June 18 at SWARTZ CREEK GOLF COURSE. The ninth annual Amy Simon Memorial Golf Scramble and Silent Auction will be held June 23 at CAPTAIN’S CLUB AT WOODFIELD. Checkin at 7:30 a.m., shotgun start at 8:45 a.m., buffet lunch at 2:30 p.m. Four-person scramble, men and women in any combination. $95 per golfer. 18 holes with cart, range balls, snack at the turn, contests, prizes. $35 for lunch and auction only. The Flint Regional Safari Chapter is hosting its second annual golf outing at LAPEER COUNTRY CLUB on June 25, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. This is a fundraiser to help wounded warriors, disabled vets, school shooting teams, scholarship programs and other community causes. Cost is $75 per person or $300 per team. The 11th annual New Life In Christ Lutheran Church Golf Tournament will be held June 25 at WASHAKIE GOLF CLUB in North Branch. The Almont Raiders Girls Golf Charity Golf Outing will be held June 26 at HEATHER HILLS. Registration is at noon, with a 1p.m. shotgun start. Cost is $100 per golfer which includes 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch and dinner at Heather Hills. All funds will be used for the Almont girls golf team. The Sullivan Scramble will be held July 9 on the Forest Akers West Course at Michigan State University. Shotgun start at 9 a.m. The outing benefits the Sullivan family, whose son John was struck by lightning 31 years ago while playing Forest Akers in a junior invitational high school event which left John paralyzed from the neck down. Cost is $400 per team, which includes golf, cart, lunch and team photo. Awards for top three teams, men’s and women’s longest drive and closest to the pin, putting contest, beat the pro and a hole-in-one contest (car). The Imlay City Volleyball Fundraiser Golf Outing will be held July 9 at CASTLE CREEK. Registration is at 8a.m., with a 9a.m. start. The four-person scramble costs $65 per golfer, which includes golf, hot dog at the turn, dinner and prize raffles. Dinner held at the Purvis home. Extra meal tickets are $10. The Doug Halstead Memorial Knickers and Kilts Open will be held July 16 at SUGARBUSH in Davison. The four-person scramble is also the 10th annual Burton & Davison/Richfield Fire/ Rescue Outing and was re-named for longtime Burton Fire Chief Halstead, who died in March 2014. Cost is $75 per person or $300 per team. Registration starts at 8 a.m., with a shotgun start at 9 a.m., free lunch at the turn and dinner and prizes to follow.
