The Lapeer Junior Lightning will hold their second annual golf outing July 30 at METAMORA GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Cost is $300 per four-player team. Closest to pin and long drive contests, donuts and coffee at registration, lunch and dinner buffet all included in team fee. Hole sponsorships available for $50 per hole. The Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce “Great Balls of Fire” golf outing, supporting the Grand Blanc Fire Department, will be held Aug. 5 at FLINT ELKS CLUB. The 13th annual golf outing to benefit Make- A-Wish Michigan will be held Aug. 6 at HADLEY ACRES. Registration is at 7:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Prizes for first, second and third place, plus a silent auction, door prizes, Vegas hole, longest drive (men and women) and closest to pin. The Wheelin Team 457 Golf Scramble will be held Aug. 6 at WASHAKIE GOLF & RV RESORT. Sign-up at 8 a.m. with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Most teams will have a physically challenged golfer playing from the forward tees. Closest to pin and long drive for both able-bodied and physically challenged golfers. Prizes of $400 for first place, $200 for second place and $100 for third place, plus golf gun challenge, 50/50 raffle and door prizes. The Rosenwald Harlanites, Inc. eighth annual Scholarship Golf Outing will be held Aug. 13 at the CAPTAIN’S CLUB OF WOODFIELD in Grand Blanc, with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Registration fee is $75 by July 15 and $80 after, and includes lunch. Sponsorships are $100 or (new this year) $500 major sponsorships. There will be a hole-in-one contest plus 50/50 raffle, closest to the pin and longest drive contests. The VFW Golf Outing will be held Saturday, Aug. 13 at ROLLING HILLS. Registration at 8:15a.m.witha9a.m. shotgun start. There will be longest drive, closest to pin, a Vegas hole and 50/50 hole, with $1,500 in cash prizes based on 36 teams. A golf outing supporting the Wounded Warriors Project will be held Aug. 13 at GREENBRIER GOLF COURSE in Mayville. The outing is a sanctioned event on behalf of the WWP sponsored by Pleasant View Free Methodist Church of Mayville. The Goodrich Martians Football Boosters will hold their 10th annual outing Aug. 13 at CAPTAIN’S CLUB, with registration at 1 p.m. and a shotgun start at 2 p.m. Dinner and awards to follow. Prizes for closest to pin, longest drive and hole-in-one contest, plus 50/50. Cost is $75 per golfer, $65 for former Goodrich athletes and $25 for dinner only. Must be 21 to golf. Girls Scouts of Southeastern Michigan will hold its 16th annual Golf Classic Fore! the Girls on Aug. 15 at FLINT ELKS CLUB. Check-in begins at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. The event is open to current and past Girl Scouts from throughout southeastern Michigan to reconnect to the organization by golfing together in teams or attending the dinner following the outing. The 18-hole scramble includes lunch, silent auction and dinner. Prizes and awards for longest drive, closest to pin and more will also be presented. Cost is $450 per foursome or $120 per individual.
