GENESEE COUNTY — Two generous donations of one-ounce gold coins were placed in the Salvation Army Red Kettles, one located at Bueche’s in Flushing and one at the Walmart in Grand Blanc. This completely anonymous gift from the heart is the first-time gold coins have been placed in two different Genesee County Kettles on the same day.
The coins have a value of approximately $1,500.
“We are grateful for the overwhelming generosity of these anonymous donor(s) and their commitment to help us “Do the Most Good in Genesee County” stated Major Randy Hellstrom, County Coordinator.
This generous donation will help ensure the Salvation Army will continue into 2020, to provide basic needs, emergency financial assistance for Genesee County residents and help families keep their utilities turned on, as well as providing assistance to avoid homelessness by providing the financial support to help them remain in their homes without the worry of eviction or foreclosure.
The food distribution program will provide food orders to the hungry and meals to children through our Kids Café. The Christmas Assistance Program that provides food baskets, toys, clothing, coats, hats and gloves for over 450 families.
