Graeter’s Ice Cream hits shelves at Flint-area Kroger stores

GENESEE COUNTY — The fourthgeneration, family-owned Graeter’s Ice Cream brings its irresistible creaminess, signature bittersweet chocolate chips and one of a kind French Pot process to Flint-area Kroger stores.

Made with high-quality, all natural ingredients like cream and pure cane sugar, the iconic brand is poised to take on the super-premium ice cream heavyweights.

The Graeter’s name is synonymous with ice cream in its hometown of Cincinnati, but the unmatched dense and creamy consistency has earned the brand national recognition and celebrity fans to boot, according to company officials.

“We are excited to offer the taste of Graeter’s to ice cream lovers in Flint,” said Richard Graeter, President of Graeter’s. “We think our ice cream is the best tasting ice cream in the world, and we’re confident that the people of Flint will agree.”

The Graeter’s process is what makes the ice cream so distinctive. Made in small, 2-gallon batches, the French Pot process allows for the randomly sized, massive chunks of bittersweet chocolate goodness found in the 11 Signature Chip Flavors, including best-seller Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip.

It’s this unique method that secured a recent win for Graeter’s in December 2010 on the newest Food Network program, Food Feuds, in a taste-off competition hosted by Michael Symon of Iron Chef America.

Graeter’s produces 24 different flavors of handpacked pints, including three sorbet flavors, and 13 seasonal flavors, which rotate throughout the year, including Strawberry Chocolate Chip in early summer and Peppermint during the holiday season.

Graeter’s can always be purchased and shipped online at www.graeters.com, but now fans in Flint can select from many different pint flavors at their local Kroger.
