GRAND BLANC — Grant awards supporting library improvements, basic needs for families experiencing homelessness, and the socialemotional and educational needs of youth were recently advised by members of the Grand Blanc Community Fund Advisory Committee. This dedicated group of volunteers approved $23,000 in grants from the community’s only permanent endowment. The grants include:
• McFarlen Library air conditioning, $10,000 to help upgrade the library’s air conditioning system.
• Friends of the Grand Blanc Grid, $5,000 for marketing and community outreach to increase awareness and garner support for creating nonmotorized pathways in the Grand Blanc community.
• Bethel United Methodist Church, $5,000 for Gottagetit digital and in-person youth enrichment to support Gottagetit’s individualized academic and mentoring work with Grand Blanc student athletes.
• Family Promise of Genesee County, $3,000 to provide basic needs items and diversion and homeless prevention support to Grand Blanc area families.
