Grand Blanc man charged with possessing child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime

GRAND BLANC — The state police Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force on Monday announced the arrest of Mark Christopher Herrick, 27, of Grand Blanc, on charges of possession of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime.

Herrick was arrested following an investigation in which digital evidence was seized from his home, said Det. Trooper Lauren Cetnor. The investigation was initiated when police received information alleging that Herrick was viewing files of child sexually abusive material on the internet.

Following the search warrant to his residence, Herrick was charged with three counts of possession of child sexually abusive material and three counts of using a computer to commit a crime. Herrick was arraigned in 67th District Court on Friday, July 30.
