Grand Blanc teen to race in Junior Olympics

DES MOINES, IA — Grand Blanc East Middle School student, Skylar Lee, will compete in the AAU Track and Field Junior Olympics in Des Moines, IA beginning this Saturday. The eight-day event, which lasts July 28-August 4, will host over 10,000 athletes to compete in various events and age groups.

Lee, 13, is the top qualifier from the state of Michigan in the 800 meter, the 3,200 meter and high jump at the AAU Junior Olympics. She has been competing in preliminary events all summer, medaling in every meet and even improving upon her personal bests in every event in the most recent weeks. Lee, who qualified at Districts and then Regionals, will represent the M.M. Track Club at the national event.
