FLINT — The 40th Annual Crim Festival of Races, one of Flint’s largest annual events, is coming up next week, bringing with it tens of thousands of visitors to downtown Flint.
This year, Health Alliance Plan (HAP), which merged with HealthPlus earlier this year, is pledging its support of this Flint hometown favorite with the 2017 title sponsorship of the Crim Festival of Races. HAP will continue HealthPlus’ support, which dates back 35 years.
From Aug. 24-27, HAP representatives, including HAP COO Matt Walsh and newly appointed CEO of HAP Midwest Health Plan Dr. Michael Genord, will be on-site during the festival and able to speak to topics such as HAP’s support of the Crim Festival of Races; New wellness programs being launched by HAP in the Mid-Michigan area, including its support of the “Ride to Groceries” Service which was expanded throughout Genesee County; The future of HAP Midwest Health Plan; Information on Medicaid for eligible community members; and CrimFit Mindfulness Training – with new developments to be unveiled at the Crim press conference.
There are also a number of other ways to learn more about HAP’s presence at the Crim, as well as its commitment to the community. On Wednesday, August 24, at 10 a.m. there will be a press conference at the Health Alliance Plan (HAP) Flint Building, located at 2050 Linden Road in Flint. At the conference, there will also be photo opportunities with 30- and 40-Year Club members, which are racers who have participated in the Crim Festival of Races for 30-40 years.
Also, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Aug. 25-27, HAP representatives will be at the 2016 Health and Fitness Expo, which will be held at the Riverfront Conference Center, located at 1 Riverfront Plaza in Flint. And finally, on Saturday, August 27, Walsh will be participating in the 10-mile Race during the Crim Festival of Races, starting at 7:30 a.m., and will be joined by HAP representatives, who can be found at the festival.
